VOLUNTEER AT O'CONNOR HOSPITAL
Thank you for you interest! O’Connor Hospital is seeking caring and friendly volunteers to elevate the patient experience through kind and compassionate service to patients, visitors and staff. This is a wonderful experience if you plan a career in healthcare or would like to make a meaningful impact in our community.
There are a wide variety of volunteer opportunities available for students (minimum age is 15) and adults.

How to become a volunteer
- Apply – complete an online application. APPLY HERE
- Submit Additional Documentation – complete the required forms found below. Return completed forms to [email protected]
- Interview – after your application and reference are received, you’ll be contacted within two weeks.
- Attend Orientation – accepted applicants will attend a 2-hour orientation that covers volunteer responsibilities, safety and compliance requirements, infection control protocols and more.
- Background Check – after completing orientation a background check will be run.
- Health Screening Clearance – after completing orientation you’ll need to provide proof of the following to Employee Health:
a. COVID-19 vaccine/booster
b. Annual flu shot
c. Immunity to measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella
d. Tdap vaccine (Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis)
e. TB test within past 3 months and annually thereafter - Badging – applicants who have submitted all required documentation and passed the Background Check and the Health Screening Clearance will receive instructions on how to obtain their Volunteer Badge.
- First Volunteer Shift – you’ll be scheduled for your first volunteer shift which will focus on training for your specific service area.
